Read next to the river

Known for calming sounds of the river, canopy of large sycamore trees, and picturesque ivy covered walls, this is the perfect spot to read quietly on the bench  beside the lush green.

During my time at the sit spot, I always found myself watching the birds. It’s always been relaxing to me to see the way birds fly in patterns, or how they jump from one tree to the next. On almost every walk I took to the sit spot, I saw either one or two geese on the fitness center roof, and it made me want to look for geese at my spot. Most days, I didn’t find any.

Then, I found two on a Friday, walking around the lawn and side-eyeing anybody who passed by. They were definitely side-eyeing me, probably wondering what I was doing sitting on their grass and staring at them with a grin on my face. I wonder how people can just pass by or see groups of birds, or groups of any animal, and not wonder what they think of us, or what their plans for the day are. Anything like that is essential knowledge for me, at least.
